We visited the Bizen potter Mr. Hiroyuki Matsui and experienced our own Bizen pottery. He gave us a thorough tour of his studio and noborigama kiln (“climbing” kiln.) We all were fascinated by his crafts, that are unadorned, close to the earth, and also filled with the modest beauty.
